Implementation Research
Through an interdisciplinary team approach involving experts in public health, health care, education and social sciences, Golden Community develops and tests interventions with active stakeholder engagement, using a theoretical model to guide the research. The organization aims to support the uptake of interventions in specific contexts, including the barriers and enablers for adoption and sustainability of interventions in real-world settings. It aims to bridge the gap between what we know from research and what is actually happens in practice. The Golden Community has extensive experience in implementing the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle for quality improvement processes in health care settings. PDSA meetings are facilitated by the organization and trained mentors to a group of stakeholders, leading to effective and sustainable improvements through collaborative efforts.
Qualitative Research and Co-creation
A team of qualitative experts in the organization is highly experienced in developing qualitative proposals and formulating interview or discussion guides. They are experts in conducting in-depth interviews (IDIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) and in analysing the data using the Nvivo application. All the evaluations are carried out within a scientific framework appropriate to the research project. The qualitative approach is usually used for process evaluation, pilot testing of the tools or interventions and to gain a deeper understanding of the research topic. In addition, the team is skilled in implementing the popular concept of ‘co-creation’ in the development of a community-based intervention through a participatory method with its end-users .
Project Management
Golden Community has a sound, structured management system with a clear employment policy in terms of roles and responsibilities, availability of infrastructure both at the central office and at the project site. Outcome-based job descriptions are provided at the time of recruitment to ensure smooth field operations, and frequent monitoring by internal review team members to ensure timely deliverables . Weekly virtual meetings of various projects provide updates through data presentations and interaction between field staff and the project management team. On-site mentoring and refresher training is provided regularly for data quality assurance and effective intervention implementation.
