The four-month internship at the Golden Community proved to be a transformative journey, offering an unparalleled opportunity for personal and professional growth in the dynamic and ever-evolving field of public health.
As I pursued my Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, I set out to find an organisation that could fulfil my academic requirement and provide me with a meaningful internship experience. With my academic partner, I approached the Golden Community, drawn to its impressive activities in Maternal & Newborn Health, Child Health, and Mental Health. We got selected from a pool of applicants and were offered the opportunity to intern at Golden Community.
Our journey began with a comprehensive orientation on the organisation and its ongoing projects, and we were privileged to partake in each one of them. We got insights into the organization’s multi-faceted approach towards strengthening healthcare systems via generating evidence-based interventions, capacity building, and technological advancements to improve healthcare outcomes in Nepal. We got exposure to the latest tools and technologies that are being used in the public health arena. This has allowed us to develop our understanding of how technology can be used to improve the efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of public health interventions. Moreover, we are immensely thankful for the invaluable support, expert guidance, and seamless coordination provided by the organization in facilitating the successful completion of a feasible small-scale project.
Throughout the internship, I have worked alongside an exceptional team of professionals who have inspired and guided me. I hope that my contribution has been beneficial to the team and the organization, and I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I have gained to future projects and endeavours.
Overall, this experience has been transformative and I am excited to continue learning and growing in the field of public health, The opportunity to work with the Golden Community has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the lessons learned and the relationship built during my time with the organization.
